ePac UK adds to management team

As ePac UK prepares to open its first site in the Midlands, the company has announced the appointment of John Peat as new Managing Partner and Director.

ePac UK has welcomed John Peat as Managing Partner and Managing Director as the flexible packaging specialist expands its leadership team. The appointment has been announced ahead of the opening of the company’s first European production site at Silverstone, in Northamptonshire, later this month.

With over 30 years of experience working in the healthcare, home & personal care, and beverage label markets, John bring his technical expertise and extensive industry knowledge to the company. He previously joint owned New Era Packaging in Ireland, which was sold in 2015. He has also held senior positions with global label printing companies, MCC and CCL. John joins ePac UK from MCC Label, where his most recent remit was that of Global Chief Technology Officer and President Healthcare for Europe.

As Managing Director of ePac UK, John will oversee all sites in the UK and Ireland, as the company expands in those markets. He is working closely with Johnny Hobeika, who heads up ePac Holdings Europe as Managing Director, and Nick Monk, who was appointed Sales Director UK & Ireland and Managing Partner for ePac UK earlier this year.

“I’m very excited to be joining this innovative company at such a crucial time and look forward to the challenge,” says John about his new appointment. “The flexible packaging market in Europe is most definitely ripe for innovation, and in particular, ready for digital print with all the benefits the technology can bring to brands of all sizes. I have always had a passion for pushing the boundaries and relish the chance to be an integral part of ePac UK’s future.”

Johnny Hobeika comments, “I’m extremely pleased that John has come onboard. Adding him to our top team is a major step forward for ePac UK. He will be a huge asset to the company, as we continue on our path to disrupt the flexible packaging market in the UK and Ireland.”

ePac UK leverages the latest digital print technology from HP, with multiple HP Indigo 20000 Digital Presses installed at each site, complemented by environmentally friendly, solvent-less lamination technology and class-leading converting equipment, all set up to produce multi-format pouches and roll-flat applications for small- to medium-sized brands and start-ups.

“The UK flexible packaging market is ready for transformation. We are already having very meaningful discussions with brands about how we can help them get to market faster, offer much greater agility and also improve their environmental footprint through reducing waste in the process and deliver smaller quantities only when needed,” concludes Johnny.
